Horse-drawn carriage ride
A romantic carriage ride, or a sleigh ride in winter, across Veľká lúka. Please book your date in advance on the national park website.
What awaits you here
Experience Muránska planina from the comfort of a horse-drawn carriage – by coach in summer, by sleigh in winter. The rides are organised by the Muránska planina National Park Administration and lead across the upland plateau around Veľká lúka, where rare semi-wild horses also graze.
Routes
- Javoriny – Veľká lúka – from the Javoriny saddle through mountain meadows and forests to Veľká lúka.
- Veľká lúka loop – a circular ride on which you may meet rare semi-wild horses.
- Veľká lúka – Maretkiná – to the viewpoint below Poludnica with a panorama of mountains and valleys.
On request, a custom route can also be arranged.
Booking in advance
Please check available dates and book your ride directly on the Muránska planina National Park website – not with us at the guesthouse. You need to book at least 12 hours in advance, as a later order may not be possible to prepare.
To cancel a ride or with any questions, please contact the information centre in Muráň: +421 910 188 986, ismuran@npmuranskaplanina.sk.
How to get there
You can reach Veľká lúka on foot along the hiking trails. By car, entry to the plateau is possible only with a permit – the information centre will advise you. You will find the meeting point for each route on the national park website.
