A relaxed ride through the valley for children and beginners
An almost flat route through the valley to the Biele vody ground squirrel colony, where you can feed the ground squirrels straight from your hand. Right next to it is Obrovisko, with large wooden sculptures inspired by local legends.
Most of the route follows a tarmac road through the valley – with children, ride on the right, one behind the other.

A forest climb to the castle with panoramic views
A forest road takes you up to Veľká lúka above Muráň and on to the ruins of Muráň Castle – one of the highest-situated castles in Slovakia. From the crag you can see the whole plateau.
The last stretch to the castle is a path with steps – leave your bike below the castle and walk the rest.

Deep forests and one of the finest views on the plateau
A peaceful climb through the forest to the historic Maretkiná forester's lodge. Leave your bike at the lodge and follow a short path to the protected Poludnica crag, with its sheer view down into the valleys.
It is about a kilometre on foot from the lodge to Poludnica crag along a marked hiking trail.

A mountain loop for half a day – it will test your battery too
A loop around the Cigánka limestone massif, where the castle stands: up forest tracks to Veľká lúka, across the plateau to Predná hora and back to Muráň through the Biele vody valley, past the ground squirrel colony.
The route back to Muráň runs about 10 kilometres along the valley road – keep to the right and ride carefully.
