Why we process your data (purposes and legal bases)

1. Accommodation booking and performance of the contract

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
• Scope of data: identification and contact details (e-mail, telephone), payment details.
• Consequence of not providing data: providing the data is a contractual requirement; without it we cannot create a booking or provide accommodation.

2. Registration and notification of the stay of Slovak citizens (guest book)

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR within the meaning of Act No. 253/1998 Coll. on the reporting of residence of Slovak citizens.
• Consequence of not providing data: you are required by law to provide the data; without it we may not provide you with accommodation.

3. Registration and notification of the stay of foreign nationals

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR within the meaning of Act No. 404/2011 Coll. on the residence of foreign nationals.
• Consequence of not providing data: required by law; without presenting identity documents (passport or ID card) we cannot accommodate a foreign national.

4. Collection of the accommodation tax for the municipality

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in accordance with Act No. 582/2004 Coll. on local taxes and the applicable generally binding regulation of the municipality of Muráň.

5. Processing of accounting documents and invoicing

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR; the data is kept on invoices in accordance with the Accounting Act and the Act on Archives and Registries.

6. Recovery of damages and claims, and handling of complaints

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) - protection of property, legal defence of interests and handling of complaints.

7. Monitoring of premises by a camera system

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) - protection of property, the safety of guests and the detection of crime.

8. Marketing and newsletter

• Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (direct marketing to existing customers). We process only your e-mail address; you can unsubscribe at any time.

Recipients of data

• Booking and point-of-sale (POS) system: the online booking system on the domain booking.usysla.sk - processing of bookings and payments.
• Accounting services: an external accounting company or an invoicing software provider.
• State and local authorities: the municipality of Muráň (accommodation tax) and the Foreign Police (for foreign nationals).
• Third-party web, analytics and marketing tools (for example Google, Meta/Facebook) and a cookie consent management tool; you will find the current list at https://usysla.sk/cookies/.

Note: our internal servers and storage are located in secure data centres in the territory of the Slovak Republic and the EU. Some tools (for example Google, Meta) may also process data outside the EU on the basis of standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

Your rights as a data subject
