The castle has been made famous by many well-known and notorious figures and events.
One of the best-known is the story of a Roma girl, the beloved of the castle captain, who paid for her unfaithfulness with a tragic death. The captain threw her from the steep crag into the abyss, and the crag on which the proud castle stands is named after her. From here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the valley. From above you will look down not only on the village of Muráň but all the way to Revúca.
